Omnonom-a-holic Entry #1: Annie Pie Davao
If you happen to pass by one of Davao City's major highways, the one going to SM City Matina, you might catch a glimpse the swirly minimalist logo of the Annie Pie. The shop has a very creative tag line which is very fit for its logo and best selling product: "Your Cinnamon Destination." But I've never been to that branch though, but if you guys want to try it out, it's really more accessible.
I've been a great fan of their branch along Malvar street, just behind Davao Doctor's Hospital. I've dined there for about four times and counting.
As you can see in the photo below they have a great variety of cakes, pastries and (yes, i would like to give it it's own category) cinnamon bread.
Apart from these good eats they also brew coffee concoctions, teas and funky fun beverages. Also, if you are looking for that hearty tummy filling meal they also serve rice meals and pasta. Their Binagoongan rice is definitely a must-try!
In terms of the prices, well yeah, they're in the mid to high coffee shop price range. Hahaha! Please note, when I mean "coffee shop price range" i refer to the typical dang-why-do-i-have-to-pay-this-much-for-a-cup-o-coffee feeling.
But all in all, they have wifi so that's a major plus. They also have sockets to plug in your laptop. I haven't tried to use my laptop there, and I'm not sure if they charge you to plug your gadgets in like other affordable coffee shops do.
And now we go to the major highlight! The Classic Flavored Cinnamon!
They have various flavors for their cinnamon goodies, choco-caramel, some with nuts, some with raisins, and they also have seasonal flavors.
But I always go for the Classic Cinnamon. For P39, it's really good! By the way take note, the classic flavor is more expensive by P4 compared to flavored ones.
They serve it to steaming hot! Sweet cinammon syrup drizzled all over the creamy buttery whipped topping all encasing that yummy cinammon-y goodness!
Omnomnom!
The good thing about this serving is that it's just enough. Well for me, that is.
It's not to heavy and not to light. Just perfect in terms of serving size and compact goodness. So yes! It's definitely a must try!
Oh! And you can buy their cinnamon goodies in boxes to take them home!
Really a food delighting hot spot for me,
and yes, it does live up to its being a cinnamon destination.
